Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio, and actor and film producer was born in the USA November 11, 1974. He was raised in Los Angeles, California. His parents divorced when he was one year old.  Henceforth, he lived with his Mother, his step father and step brothers. They lived in several neighborhoods’ in Los Angeles. His Mom came from Germany, and his Father`s roots were in Italy. He currently lives in Los Angeles. He is an enthusiastic environmentalist.

DiCaprio`s career is in three different genres three decades; romantic disaster film, crime comedy, and a psychological thriller.

Leonardo was at the beginning in his career, when he was awarded the lead  role in the Titanic movie. The Titanic is an epic romance with a disaster. DiCaprio`s character is a philander hero. The genre of romance story is focus on the relationship and romantic love between two people. Typically the romantic story is long and complex, just like in the Titanic. The main character is tempted by many opportunities like; love, adventure, and experience. Melodic music helps to express all of the emotions in the movie. Easy to empathize in romance because the sun is shining, everybody is happy and smiling, and there is characteristic buzz. Typically the main characters repeat this sentence: I love you! Leonardo as a good-looking actor is entertaining us with his play. Entrant actor, like DiCaprio usually can improve his basic skills in this kind of light genre. He successfully played to the heart strings of the women.  DiCaprios' effort was supported by actress Kate Winslet.

Similarly, Tom Hanks supports DiCaprio's character in the Catch Me If You Can. This comedy is from the third decade of his career, and based on a true story. Stephen Spielberg decided to create a film because his parents divorced too. He wants to emphasize the lesson of the story; divorce parents, broken family life, and hard childhood. Spilberg also sprinkled the film with crime. Leonardo is still handsome but his role is more nuanced. Of course, comedic films develop the characters, situations, action, and language, but it seems that you are running with the characters because, the actions and the places are changing so fast. The entertaining is guarantee by jokes, even if there is a little drama is floating around the fun. Usually the audience identifies with the protagonist easily because; his/her personality is sympathetic, in the end of the story the central character is kind of family member. The music of the movie is not that special than in the romantic story, but it accommodates.  

As Di Caprio matures, so does his theatrical roles.  He is ready to act in a full-scale drama. The psychological thriller Shutter Island is from DiCaprio’s recently works.  The Ashecliffe Hospital for the criminally insane on Shutter Island located in Boston Harbor sets the stage for the drama to unfold. Leonardo does not need any famous partner in this movie, he acts like a professional and he shows his unique style. Dramatic theme put the main character in a conflict with himself and his circle. There is a tragic or painful resolution in the story, and this problem is increase the feeling. This emotion is always scary and sad supports by music and others effects. The entertaining must be tragic, crime while the characters are normal people with their everyday life.  The audience is always wants to encourage the protagonist, and help him/her to solve problem. The music is floating with the feeling during the affair. Around the climax the sense is always exaggerate, and clutch your stomach.

These genres are building blocks for any actor. Obviously, the audience has to be entertained by the story, and the performance.  Sometimes the lesson of the story dominates. Leonardo DiCaprio’s skills are improving with age. The Titanic was not convincing, even if the base of the story is interesting.  The Catch Me If You Can is a great movie for the family on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Comedy and crime together with these popular actors are real recreation. Finally the Shutter Island is a really tricky tale with fever. You can see a completely different life behind the Ashecliffe Hospital is that true or not is not important.

Thanksgiving

             I think our Thanksgiving started four day before November 24^th, when my husband took one of the wall sections out from the living room. I just came back from the store with an organic, premium, baby, frozen turkey, when he decided it`s time for construction. First time I really did not think he would make it. On Thanksgiving week everybody was excited about something: my husband wanted to put a new fireplace and a new TV in the living room; my dog wanted to go hunting again, my cat wanted to be alone with his unbelievable dreams, and I wanted to take a break and enjoy the long, rainy weekend with some great turkey food and apple pie. Well, my schedule changed, so I had to work from Wednesday to Sunday. I think my husband was happy because he could start the construction. We moved the furniture; he kicked out one of the wall sections and extended it. He was quick and he did a fantastic job just after, I got home from work I saw the dust everywhere. He painted the new section of the wall, and he set up the new 3D TV with the old surround system for Thanksgiving Day. I baked the turkey and the side dishes after work, and I made a table with warn autumn decoration. We did not invite anyone for dinner in this time; we just enjoyed our familiar atmosphere. On the holiday weekend, I went to work, so my husband took the dog for hunting. This was the end of the pheasant season, and our dog finally acted like a professional hunter. This was extremely important for us because, this was Dio’s first hunting season. My husband really did not train him for pheasant hunting. We bought a face pheasant wing, and we hided it in the bushes and force the dog to find it. He did it well, but we did not pay attention for one of the main thing: point the bird in the bushes. Anyway, on his last hunter day, he pointed the bird and he work excellent. We are so proud of him. We still do not have any fireplace, just the space for that. In summary; I think we had a really good time with the construction and the turkey.     

The Cambodian Genocide

The Cambodian Genocide was between the years 1975-79. Pol Pot, the leader of Khmer Rouge, wanted to copy and follow the Maoist idea. This idea meant everybody should be equal and everybody had to work in the agricultural area. That was the reason why the Khmer Rouge killed approximately more than two million Cambodian people. The Khmer Rouge did not accept the religious; they cancelled the money and killed lots of smart people: doctors, teachers, lawyers, and all highly educated people. They believed in the clear beginning so they separated the children from their parents because they thought the children were flexible enough for the new lifestyle. The Cambodian people suffered starvation: they had been healthy and strong, but finally they got diseases. The `killing fields` were the places where they had to work, and they were killed. The school building was the main office, there was the Khmer Rouge. The Cambodian people could not to choose partner, the system made it. The Cambodian people could not to listen to the radio. The survivor told her story about the life there at that time. She was two years old, and her father was a nurse, so he was killed. She and her mother stayed together. Her parents were very young, and they met in the high school. Her mother told her: don`t speak or give any answer! She was sick, but fortunately later she got better. After this terrible four years they went to the Thailand refugee camp. They were there for three years. After that she came to the U.S.A. After the Genocide the Khmer Rouge's links with China meant hostility between the Pol Pot government and Vietnam. In 1978 Vietnam invaded Kampuchea and overthrew the Khmer Rouge. The guerrillas were driven into the western jungles and beyond to Thailand. Vietnam set up a puppet government composed mainly of recent defectors from the Khmer Rouge. This new socialist government was comparatively benign, but found it hard to organize the necessary reconstruction programmed: Pol Pot's policies had ruined the economy, there wasn't much foreign aid; all the competent professionals, engineers, technicians and planners had been killed.

Trip to Paris

When I finished my studies at the college in Hungary, I had a big travel plan to Europe. I promised myself: I will travel all of the Europeans capital cities, especially to Paris. But first I had to find a job, and I continued my studies at the University. One of my class mates at the Alma mater – who became a very great friend of mine – has known my idea, and she wanted to come with me. After four years at the University, when we will get our masters degree, we will have to deserve to take a trip to Paris. Katy, my friend, and I were classmates at the University at Pecs. We took weekend classes because, we worked in full time. We lived in Budapest: this is Hungary`s capital city. During these years – around 2000 - 2004 – Katy changed her job, I moved to my first condominium, and we studied and spent lots of time together. Because none of us visited Paris before, we were getting excited about this trip. First of all we had to complete our classes, which were an extremely busy period. The school was four hours far from Budapest; we traveled there by train for a long weekend in every mouth. In the last year we were tired about the school. After we completed our finals – written and verbal – we went to home and just booked the airplane ticket to Paris. Later we started to make a plan: how we will spend our seven days in that wonderful capital city. We were sure, it`s will be a girls trip, so we had to talk our partners. They were not too happy with this idea, but they understood it. In the middle of the summer, we got the flight, and we were in Paris. Our motel was not too far from the Moulin Rouge. We bought a Paris card and a transportation membership, and in this way we could save some euro. We woke up early morning every day, and after breakfast we just went to watch all of the famous places, Montmartre, Louvre, Scare – Coeur, Opera, Sorbonne. My hobby is to go to the theater in every city, wherever you are. We bought a discount ticket one of the small theater in downtown, so we watched the Chicago. We had a really good time on the Champs Elysees. We took a look at in every each of stores on this main street. We tasted several cheeses, pastries; we smelled unbelievable expensive and famous perfumes. Almost in the end of our trip, when we were at the Notre Dame we met some nice Australian guys. They invited us to the pub for the evening. Katy gave her phone number to them. She wanted to go hung out with them, I did not. My English was really poor at that time, so Katy talked with the gentlemen. Finally we canceled the party, but Katy and one Australian kept in touch. One year later Katy took a trip to Sydney, by herself. That was her challenge. In the next few years – until I moved to Seattle- we took some trip to other capital cities, for example: Vienna, Praga, Bratislava, Bergen, London etc.  I really enjoy traveling, especially with my very great friend. Currently we are so far from each other, and I hope she will have a chance to visit me as soon.

Rainy Seattle

The Pacific Northwest`s weather is typically oceanic on the west coast, and it is in Seattle mostly rainy. There are four seasons with a long spring and autumn, and it is a short summer, and winter. The summer is not too warm, and the winter is not too cold, but sometimes there is an extremely hot summer day or a really cold winter day. Seattle is between the Olympic Mountains and the Cascade Range, and close to the Puget Sound, so these are effects for the weather. Typically the rainy months are from November to May. In this area we have two hundred cloudy days, and ninety partly cloudy days. The amount of the rain is exactly the same than in Chicago, but on the East Coast they got the rain rarely. We have several different kinds of rain: increasing, shower, rainfall, rainstorm, thunder-storm, drizzle, gust of rain and just simple rain. It calls Washington State is an Evergreen State because of the rainy weather and lots of moisture are in the air together give beautiful nature. There are plenty of evergreen trees, plants and bushes; moreover, Seattle is the emerald city from the evergreen nature everywhere. This is not just about Seattle because there are ambient cities. After I moved in Seattle I have thought if the weather is rainy it suppose to be cold too. Later I noticed it is not true, even more comfortable. The air is mostly fresh and crystal clean, and sometimes –when the weather is dark and rainy - I enjoy being inside of the house, and listening to the sounds of the raindrops. In fact this weather makes our mood depressive. Especially the long and dark winter season is pretty hard for everyone. Probably who was born here already got use to it in front of who was not born here. As I know there are so many singles live in this city, but I do not know is cause of the rainy weather or from the different lifestyle and incommunicable persons. In summary: I really like his Emerald City with all of the rain.
